OnĀ Tuesday,Ā MayĀ 7th,Ā secondaryĀ studentsĀ representingĀ theĀ YorkĀ CatholicĀ DistrictĀ SchoolĀ Board (YCDSB) showcasedĀ theirĀ skillsĀ atĀ theĀ 2025Ā SkillsĀ OntarioĀ Competition.Ā ThisĀ annualĀ provincialĀ event,Ā heldĀ atĀ theĀ TorontoĀ CongressĀ Centre,Ā bringsĀ togetherĀ studentsĀ fromĀ acrossĀ OntarioĀ toĀ competeĀ inĀ aĀ varietyĀ ofĀ skilledĀ tradesĀ andĀ technologyĀ challenges.
The Skills Ontario Competition is one of Canadaās premier skilled trades and technology events, offering students a valuable opportunity to showcase their talent, knowledge and hands-on skills in their chosen field. The competition brings together the top student competitors from across the province to demonstrate excellence before educators, families, future employers and industry leaders.
Participants compete for Gold, Silver and Bronze medals and the chance to advance to the Skills Canada National Competition (and potentially the WorldSkills Competition on the international stage)! Itās an incredible experience that not only celebrates student achievement but also opens doors to future careers in the skilled trades and beyond.
